Kakadu is only JPEG2000 encoder. Wrapping the files and packaging is done probably by Resolve when using Kakadu. It could be that easyDCP plugin handles both j2k conversion and packaging.
Safest way is to encode to JPEG2000 and package in DCP Maker. Works perfect, looks good and plays everywhere.
